Main Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and preventative maintenance on hotel equipment, such as HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and kitchen appliances. Ensuring that all equipment and systems operate efficiently to prevent breakdowns.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting: Identifying and fixing electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other technical problems in guest rooms and public areas. Troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment and performing repairs to resolve issues promptly.
- Emergency Response: Handling emergency repairs, such as water leaks, power outages, or broken equipment. Responding quickly to maintenance requests to ensure guest safety and comfort.
- Managing Building Systems: Monitoring the operation of building management systems (BMS), which may include HVAC, lighting, security, and fire protection systems. Adjusting settings and controls as necessary to maintain optimal building conditions.
- Assisting with Renovations and Installations: Supporting room renovations, upgrades, and refurbishments by handling electrical work, plumbing adjustments, or carpentry tasks. Installing new equipment, fixtures, or appliances as needed.
- Record-Keeping and Reporting: Documenting completed maintenance tasks and repairs in logs or maintenance management systems. Reporting major issues to supervisors or management for further action.
- Compliance and Safety Standards: Ensuring compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and hotel policies. Following safety protocols for handling hazardous materials, using protective equipment, and working in potentially dangerous environments.
- General Facility Upkeep: Performing tasks such as painting, carpentry, and minor construction to keep the hotel in good condition. Assisting in maintaining outdoor areas, including gardens, pools, and parking lots.
- Energy Management: Implementing energy-saving initiatives, such as adjusting HVAC settings, fixing water leaks, and maintaining lighting systems. Monitoring utility usage to ensure efficient operation.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 3 years coliving/hotel technician experience
- Technical skills in electrical works, plumbing, fixing appliances, fixing furniture etc.
- Fluent in spoken and written English (Mandarin or Malay is a bonus)
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Project management skills
- Hands on repair and maintenance skill is a must
- Driver’s license
